ARCHERY RANGE INFORMATION

Kings Mountain Archers at Huddart County Park

This range is located on King Mountain Road in Woodside California. Access to this range is free and open to the public. For information on the club write to Kings Mountain ARchers Club P.O. Directions: From San Jose take highway 280 North to the Woodside Road off ramp. At the bottom of the ramp turn left go under the freeway 1.5 miles to Kings Mountain Rd. Turn right on Kings Mountain Road and go exactly 4.3 miles. You will see a gate on the right and power lines above you. Park your car in a safe manner outside the gate, and walk in a few hundred feet. You will see a very nice multi distance range on the right from 10 to 65 yards. In addition to this on the left you will enter a 28 station field range that provides many yardages and target positions. Although a bit of a drive from San Jose, this is one of the nicest facilitiies we have ever seen. Take a good pair of hiking shoes, mosquito repellant, water and lunch and make a day of it! Driving time from Sportsmen's Supply is about 45 minutes.


Black Mountain Bowman Range San Jose

This range is located in South San Jose off of Santa Teresa Blvd. It is a Santa Clara County Park operated and maintained by Black Mountain Bowman. Access is free and open to the public. Directions: From San Jose take highway 85 South to Cottle Road. At the top of the ramp turn right and go one block to Santa Teresa Blvd. Turn left at Santa Teresa and go to Avenida Espana. Turn right on Avenida Espana and go six blocks to the range. The gate is on the right. The range hosts 28 different targets at a variety of angles and distances. It is a very nice facility in a classic California Oak tree setting. Access is easy and fast and a great way to spend a few hours. Driving time from Sportsmen's supply is about 15 minutes.


Mt. Madonna Bowmen Range at Mt. Madonna State Park

The range is located in Mt. Madonna State Park and maintained by Mt. Madonna Archers. There is a vehicle entrance fee but the range use is free. This range has a very nice field range and an additional 42 targets (14 field, 14 hunter & 14 animal) that offer a wide variety of distance and angles. Be sure to wear good hiking shoes and bring insect repellant and water. You might consider packing a lunch and spending the day! The website address is: www.mountmadonnabowmen.com.

Directions: From San Jose take Highway 85 South to Almaden Expressway. Turn right on the Almaden Expressway and continue until it dead ends at Harry Road. Turn right on to Harry Road and make an immediate left on McKean Road. Travel on McKean Road which turns into Uvas Road for about 16 miles. Turn right on Watsonville Road and travel 3.5 miles and turn right on to Hecker Pass Road (Hwy 156). Travel 4.6 miles on Hwy 156 and turn right on Pole Line Road into the Mt. Madonna State Park. Be sure to get directions to the range once inside the park. Driving time from Sportsmen's Supply is about 50 minutes.


Bowhunters Unlimited at Stevens Creek County Park

The range is located at Stevens Creek County Park, and maintained by Bowhunters Unlimited. Access is free and open to the public. This range has a very nice field range and a 31 station walking range and a broad head pit. Be sure and take sunscreen, insect repellant and water. Directions: From San Jose take Highway 85 North to Stevens Creek Blvd. Turn left at the top of the ramp onto Stevens Creek Blvd. Continue 1.1 miles to Foothill Blvd. Turn left onto Foothill Blvd. and continue 3.7 miles. Veer left onto Mt. Eden Road and continue 0.7 of a mile and turn right at the range entrance.


San Francisco Archers in Pacifica

San Francisco Archers is located in Pacifica on land owned by the City and County of San Francisco called Sharp Park. It is a nonprofit organization that promotes archery at all levels of ability and age. The Club is run by volunteer officers that are elected annually by the membership. The Club has over 170 active members. The Club is open to the public everyday. There is a suggested donation for non-members, adults are $5.00 and children under 13 are admitted free of charge. If you are interested in trying archery for yourself or your children, SF Archers offers an Archery Outreach Program the first and third Sunday of the month from 9 to noon. Directions: From San Jose take US-101 North towards SF. Take the I-380 West/San Bruno exit (I-280), take the Avalon Drive/Westborough Blvd exit, turn left on Westborough Blvd and continue on Sharp Park Road, at the bottom of hill make a left onto Lundy (before the bridge), go through the stop sign and continue 100 yards, make a left at the sign (the one on our homepage)
